After launching the Aprilia SR150 ABS variant in India and in 2019 the Aprilia Storm 125, the Italian giant is now said to be working on a brand new build from ground-up, a more affordable and comfortable Aprilia Scooter which will go by the name as Aprilia Comfort. As the name suggests, this will be highly focused on not only being comfortable but also practical as well as being highly fuel economical. This new champ from the Aprilia-Piaggio family is set to take on the likes of Honda Activa and TVS N-torq. A new storm in the commuter scooter segment is coming your way and below you will know-how.

  • A softer suspension setup which will be a totally opposite to the SR150
  • A highly refined engine for a Fuel economy/Mileage of 48 to 52Kmpl

Apart from this, the Aprilia Comfort will be a CVT and chances are high that the same Aprilia SR125 engine will be used here with a different state of tune for better mileage which is what sells scooters in India and looks like Piaggio now knows that; better late than never.

There’s also a high possibility that the Comfort could probably be also based on the Aprilia SportCity or another possibility is that it could be similar to the Piaggio Liberty 125. Because parts sharing is common and you can see where this is going and what’s their vision for India is right now.

Some Specs and Features Update on Aprilia Comfort

The fuel economy of the Piaggio Medly 125 or the Liberty Euro 125 version is said to be around 47.5 kmpl to 48kmpl. Apart from that, the Piaggio Medly 125 which is what the Aprilia Comfort will be based on also has Fuel injection rather than a carburetor which is now currently present in all Aprilia motards in India.

Moreover, don’t get surprised to see ABS as standard on the Aprilia Comfort 125 with it generating anywhere from 9HP to 10.5HP, also the Piaggio site mentions about something called as an i-get technology (Italian green experience technology) for fuel savings by auto shut-down of the engine at traffic lights and efficiently starting it at the slightest touch of your throttle.

So, such green tech could also make it to the Aprilia Comfort which will also satisfy the customers and BS6 norms, plus Aprilia can sell it without any issues from the motor authority of the country.

Aprilia Comfort Price

Even though no matter how good these scooters are, everything comes down to the pricing and the expected price for the Aprilia Comfort will be about 70,999/- Ex-Showroom Delhi, on road, you can guess it right? With that 5-years mandatory insurance and RTO could peg it up to 80k INR, while it Mumbai expects it to start at around 82K and 92K with taxes. Which is great pricing considering you’re getting the Aprilia brand name, which synonymous to great racing heritage.
