Update 4: Images of the New variants of the Motorola one P40 series

Motorola Moto P40 Play, is the youngest member of the upcoming Motorola One Power aka P40 series. The device seems to be very compact and could serve the audience looking for small phones. However, on paper the screens measures at 5.6-inches Full-HD+  IPS LCD and the dimensions are 147.7 x 71.5 x 9.2 mm.

The battery on this one could easily be over 4500mAh and you get a hint about it by looking at that thickness which is at 9.2mm. The moto p40 play will also support 18W fast charging and it will also feature a 3.5mm headphone jack. As the Motorola One Power series has always been offering good price to performance ratio so expect this to come under 12K INR (under $250) pricing and offering a Snapdragon 635 or something better with 3GB and 4GB RAM models.

 

Update 3: New Variants of the Motorola One Vision

Motorola is planing on something big with it’s upcoming offering which will be the successor to the Motorola One Power. And now the infamous leakster Evan Blass has revealed a new list of variants of the device.

There’s also a new variant known as Motorola One Action, which we suspect to be a super rugged version of them. Featuring water and dust resistant along with some improved shatter-shield technology. Specs will be on par with the

Massive Battery with 18W Turbo Charging will come with the Motorola P40 aka Motorola One power. This turbo charger will be offered within the box in most countries for instance India and other South East Asian Countries will 100% get that Turbo Charger. While other countries might get a 15W while other may not get it?

Update 1: Motorola One Power 2 aka Motorola P40 Encased  renders
New Motorola P40 also known as the Motorola One Power in some markets has now again leaked in new renders and which confirms our previously reported leak about it’s design aspects. And now the newly leaked Transparent smartphone cases of the Motorola P40 confirms it.

We can see the Motorola One Power 2 encased in a transparent case where the punch hole display is visible in all it’s glory and due to this punch hole design we do not get a notch and thus a bezel free top section.

 

Motorola P40 or the Motorola One Power 2 has been revealed in high-quality renders and is the best look at the future android one device from the house of the American giant. From the courtesy of onleaks, this render of the Motorola One Power 2 aka Motorola P40 sports the new trend of 2019 that’s the hole in display setup, which completely eliminates the notch, free’s up a lot of space at the top and now we got rid of that notch.

The front camera can be found within the island (the hole punched within top right corner of the display) looks quite cool and modern. However, we still have a little bottom bezel with the Motorola branding which we like a lot, as this branding has returned after 5 years and was first seen on the legendary Droid Razr phones.

Coming towards the rear of the Motorola P40 or the One Power 2, we have curved sides and seems like the rear panel is made of glass. The device in this image is in this champagne shade which looks quite premium and Motorola isn’t copying any of those gradient color shades, or maybe that variant is also present?

Motorola One Power 2/Motorola P40 Specs

Specs wise the Motorola One Power 2 aka Motorola P40 will be powered by either the Snapdragon 670 or the newly launched Snapdragon 675 which are highly capable upper mid-range processors, but our gut feeling says a Snapdragon 636 could be here. And these chipsets are highly possible because the Motorola P30/Motorola One power came with a Snapdragon 636, and rumors and leaks suggest that the Moto G7 Plus is said to have the Snapdragon 660, which is also a powerful, chip and this one actually doesn’t sits above the Moto G7 actually, see the One Power with Snapdragon 636 was priced at 17K while the Moto G6 Plus was priced above 20k and it was powered by just a Snapdragon 630, so you get the fact there right! So, Motorola clearly signals here that the Moto G plus variant is more premium compared to Moto and Google’s Android One offering.

The device will have 4GB/6GB of RAM and storage options will start from 32GB to 64GB along with sd-card support and also a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Motorola P40/One Power 2 Camera and software

Furthermore, we still have some more juicy part left from the Motorola P40 here for you and that is if you look closely, near the Dual Camera setup you can see it says 48M, which could probably mean a 48-megapixel camera(IMX56) could actually end-up on the Motorola One Power 2(Motorola p40). Now, why a 48MP camera, because Sony earlier this year launched a 48 Megapixel camera for smartphones and it promises to image quality like no other you can read more about it here.

Motorola P40 aka Motorola One Power 2 is an Android One device and you can see the Android One branding on the back-panel which means faster Android software Updates. The Motorola One Power was the first phone that got updated to Android Pie 9.0 in Moto’s portfolio.

Motorola One Power aka Motorola P40 Release date

Motorola One Power/Motorola P40 is expected to be launched by the end of Q1 2019 or in early Q2 2019, that’s by the end of May 2019. However, the device will be first unveiled and sold in the Chinese market and later in mid-August, it will come in the Indian markets as well as in the US, UK and other European regions as well.

The battery on the Motorola P40 will be similar to last years model which is at about 5000mAh which is more than enough for a day and half usage. Maybe we could get an 18W charger to top-up this giant battery quickly.

Motorola P40/One Power 2 Price

The device will be priced at $249 to $320 for the top model, and in Indian markets, the Motorola P40/One Power 2 will arrive starting from 17k for the 64GB variant, while if there’s a 128GB variant then it will be under 20k for sure.
