BlackBerry just recently launched their new handset that’s the blackberry Key 2 and the device brought back the nostalgic BB keyboard and got BB fans very excited but for the price, the specs sheet falls pale in comparison say against the OnePlus 6, which is currently the best bang for your buck. However, Blackberry fans who are on a budget can rejoice again as a new leak has just arrived showing us what appears to be a Budget variant of the BB Key 2 and will be known as the BlackBerry Key 2 Lite or Mini according to the infamous leakster none other than Evan Blass.

As you can see in the leaked image, the Blackberry Key 2 Lite has a textured plastic back panel to keep costs down and the dimensions as well as the overall form factor the camera placement is also similar to the premium BB key 2. However, we don’t get to see the front of the device, which we expect might also see cost cuttings? But that would just defeat the whole purpose of owning a Blackberry because it’s all about that premium physical qwerty keyboard.

Blackberry Key 2 Lite: Expected specs from the budget phone

  • Processor – Snapdragon 636
  • Memory – 4GB/32GB/64GB and 6GB/64GB/128GB
  • Battery – 3800mAh
  • Release date: August or in Early September

So, we hope Blackberry saves the cost on the specs and let that premium typing experience on the BB Key live on the Lite version. We speculate that the BlackBerry Key 2 will be powered by the mid-range king Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 which is an Octa-Core processor clocked at 1.8GHz and is fairly powerful, paired with it will be 4GB and 6GB of RAM with 32GB and 64GB of internal storage options. Lastly, the camera could be another front where cost cuttings could take place, but that’s most likely to affect the front camera rather than the Dual rear shooter. To sell it in number BlackBerry should opt for a larger battery on this one to justify the price if they plan to cost it over $399.

According to evan blass, the handset will come in three color options starting with the Red that you see in this picture and also Blue and copper color options will be made available. The handset will go against the likes of the Moto G6 Plus or the Z2 Play, OnePlus 6 and Huawei’s Honor v10.
