Huawei just replaced Samsung as the top smart maker after Apple and the company has been on a roll since quite a time, though most of its smartphone’s look similar to the iPhone and comes with great set of camera’s for sure, on the software side, it doesn’t stand a chance. However, the phone the company is churning out lately are decent but the upcoming Huawei mate 20 series is about to change that and will challenge the likes of the Apple iPhone X and its main competitor the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 which is just a couple of days away from its debut.
The Mate 20 series will have three variants, first the top of the line Mate 20 pro, then the standard Mate 20 and lastly the Mate 20 Lite, which has been leaked today in new schematics when it visited FCC.
The schematics of the Mate 20 Lite shows us the full rear of the handset and starting with the design of the device, on the rear we have a Dual-Camera setup as expected with Leica lenses for sure and with an LED flash. However, it’s still not clear what combination of Dual-Camera Huawei will throw on the Mate 20 Lite, but here are some quick guesses below.

The camera will be a 20-megapixel and a 2-megapixel shooter which means the last option could be true.

While you maybe wonder, hey, there’s a third circular cutout there isn’t that for the third sensor and the answer is nope, it for the fingerprint scanner and it is confirmed, because on the image it simply say’s dual camera, that’s it. Which also deny’s the fact of any under-display fingerprint reader, but that could be possible on the more premium variants, this is still a mid-range Lite variant of the Mate 20
Speaking about the fingerprint sensor, which will be mounted on the rear instead of the front like we see on the Huawei P20 series. This means there’s a good chance that we will get to see a full edge-to-edge bezel-less display dominating the front.
A 6.3-inch display sporting a screen-to-body ratio of 89% is expected and most probably we will have a chin at the front because making thin bezels like the iPhone X first requires more display and it requires more display because it needs to be bent at the bottom to attach the display connector under that bent area, which thus avoids a noticeable chin seen on recently launched smartphones with notch and hideous chins to show the logo of the brand.
Moreover, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710(trying to be Snapdragon 710? haha) will be under the hood which is also seen on the Nova 3i, with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. And yes, a notch display is also in plans, we hope the display is an AMOLED panel. So, when you try to hide it on the Mate 20 Lite, it actually works and doesn’t look like a black bar is around it like you see on LCD Panels.

Pricing of the Mate 20 Lite will be similar to the Huawei P20 Lite, at $320 US or 275 Euros, which is pretty reasonable for a mini flagship device. Hopefully, Huawei does update this to Android P 9.0 later next year, as this will come with Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box with EMUI with AI-tricks running on top.
