World’s largest messaging service, WhatsApp finally brings the most awaited group video calling feature in the latest update. According to the Facebook-owned company, it’s users have made over more than 2 billion minutes of video and voice calls per day, which is an insane amount of calls, compared to other similar services.
And with the new WhatsApp Group Video and Voice calling now is rolling out for both Android and iPhone users, the number will grow even further. Apart from that, WhatsApp also made it clear that the Group Video as well as Voice calling feature does support end-to-end encryption, which is a good thing to hear.
What do you get with this new WhatsApp Video and Voice calling feature?
So, now this Group Video and Voice calling feature on WhatsApp allows you to call up to 4 users. And all you have to do is, tap on new add participant button which will be present at the top right-hand side of the new interface, to let more users join into your call.
As you can see in this image above, the layout is very simple and the screen gets divided into four parts, showing each contact and below you have your standard options such as
- Mute your mic
- Disable your camera feed
- Switch the camera from front to back and vice versa and
- Lastly the obvious end call button
Plus this four-way voice and video calling are optimized for most networks around the world. With that, said WhatsApp has not really mentioned which countries are currently getting it, but you should probably update to the latest version of WhatsApp to avail this new features on your app.
Also, remember this feature won’t show up on all devices globally at once at the same time, so please be patient, until it shows up on your side.
