The modular Motorola Moto Z3 series launched this year is the first contender in the queue to get the Android P 9.0 Update which is expected to arrive by the end of this year, followed by the Z3 Play series next in the line which will get the soak tests by December 2018 and the first rollouts will begin by the end of Jan till the end of Q1 2019 ends or as we know Motorola takes its own sweet time to deliver a stable update so it might also end up by Q2 2019.

Now coming towards the Moto Z2 Force, well this might get the Android P 9.0 Update within a similar timeframe or before the Moto Z3 Play, that’s by Q1 2019 or by mid-Q2 2019. However, the Moto Z2 Play has to come over a long journey and might have to wait as long as till Q3 2019 till the time the update shows up, considering it got Android Oreo a couple of months ago.

However, updates for the carrier variant of the Moto Z2 force and the Moto Z2 Play as always be delayed and will arrive after a month or two after the unlocked variant gets it.

As Motorola has slice one update cycle for the moto g series now, the premium budget titan is now left with only one year of a major Android software update and the latest Moto G6 line-up will be treated with this new flavor of Android P 9.0 update. But will further continue to receive security updates for the second year for sure.

With the Moto G6 Plus getting it first in Q2 2019, closely followed by the Moto G6 standard edition in the start or mid of Q2 2019. However, the little Moto G6 Play’s future could run into ambiguity but we hope that the little G6 Play model will endure and get the update in mid-2019 for sure. Motorola in the past with the G4 line-up did update the Moto G4 Play to Android Nougat from marshmallow, but that was a long journey.

Motorola phones Android P 9.0 update for the Moto G6 Play could be a controversial one for now, as it might arrive very late or not arrive at all, but we keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

So, till the official lists comes up we shall just wait and watch what’s included in this, till then this is the best you can get.
